Rats & Mice - Rodent control
Sighting a rat or mouse, or simply knowing an infestation exists, usually causes great distress for customers, staff and employees.
They can carry and pass on many nasty diseases to humans; Weils Disease for example is carried in rat’s urine along with Bubonic Plague (The Black Death), they cause sometimes irreparable damage to the buildings they inhabit and can destroy any stock and provisions they encounter. Many an unexplained fire has eventually been attributed to the damage caused to power cables by gnawing rats and mice! Aside from the obvious hygiene issues; a work force’s knowledge that they are sharing their habitat with rodents is often enough to cause a down turn in production and in bars and hotels a single sighting can devastate a hard won reputation.
Rodents are usually controlled by means of strategic placement of rodenticide poison and proofing of the building, grounds or structure to prevent their ingress.
Fleas, Ants, Bed Bugs, Flies, Wasps, Cockroaches - Insect control
Many species of insect can infest our homes, gardens and working habitat and whilst only a small number may be important to public health they, nether the less, are significant in spreading disease and fouling food stuffs and environments.
In addition to the well known treatments of spraying and use of insecticides we can offer the full range of screening installation options which may be more suitable in food production operations.
Mole / rabbit / squirrel controls
Despite the cuddly image that these common creatures portray their presence in the work place, business or Retail Park can be extremely hazardous to public health. Potentially moles can undermine buildings and buried cables, rabbits strip bark and cause extensive damage to manicured and landscaped grounds and garden, and both are known to have caused costly damage to isolated mobile phone mast sites.
Feral Birds – Avian Controls - Anti perch spikes / netting
As well as compromising the aesthetics of many purpose built retail complexes, the unpleasant fouling that roosting birds cause not only damages the buildings fabric through chemical reaction but can be a more sinister problem in terms of health and safety.
Pigeon faeces can carry diseases such as Listeria, Campylobacter and Salmonella and to add to the unpleasantness they often are home to fleas, mites, ticks and lice.
No Building Manager or Site Manager should wish to be held accountable in a court after a “slip or trip” accident and the ensuing damages claim that is so common in today’s world. A build up of droppings is something that may be overlooked, but when this build –up encroaches on a footpath or walkway action must be taken to protect staff, customers and the public from slipping Corporate Pest Management Ltd offer the full range of anti – perch spikes and netting installation. However, despite their effectiveness we often find that the addition of these items to frontages is contrary to the image that building owners wish to present. Often the answer to this is to use birds of prey.
Control of feral birds using birds of prey
Corporate Pest Management specialise in the control of pest birds using birds of prey. It’s a well known fact that prey birds – pigeons, gulls, starlings – will leave their roost when a bird of prey is in the area. This natural fear instinct can be utilised to great effect and advantage to scare birds away that would otherwise be roosting and fouling a building or premise.
Birds of prey, usually Harris Hawk or Saker Falcon, singly or in tandem are flown in target areas. This is repeated weekly or at other prescribed intervals and has the effect of scaring away the pest birds permanently. Usually done during the evening, and always when the site is closed or empty of people, this environmentally sound practice is much favoured and highly effective; in otherwise hard to treat sites, such as sports stadia and shopping centres, the results are fantastic.
